The BMW R 18’s heritage tracks back to some of BMW’s oldest motorcycles. To celebrate its launch in the US, we created a five-episodes mini-series that follows two BMW riders from the Hartford, CT chapter of the Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club, a group that honors the heritage of America’s first all-black peacetime regiments. In episode one of the R 18 Heritage Road, we meet club VP Paul “Beemer” Stringer, a retired high school principle and Purple Heart Recipient, and Probationary member Rob “S.O.B.” (Son of Beemer – no blood relations to Paul) Griffiths, an Aeronautical Engineer.
